The Who Together With Their Generation

When The Who began their set on day two, they weren’t in high spirits. If you had to wait 12 hours before having the opportunity to perform, you wouldn’t be either. And from what we know, an incident backstage made the lengthy wait much worse.

As soon as they started playing, Pete Townsend booted the camera team from the stage. Then and only then did they begin what would become regarded as one of the most remarkable performances of the occasion. Naturally, there were also some conflicts onstage. However, it was their rendition of the 1965 song “My Generation” that garnered media attention.
