When Thursday came, Brooklyn and her mother woke up early to prepare their simple plan for Dopson. Brooklyn wanted to ensure that he felt included in her celebration even if he didn’t know it and wasn’t there. She also wanted to let him know that he made her happy.
When it was about time that Dopson would pass by, they stood outside their house while holding Brooklyn’s celebration cupcakes. Finally, they smiled at Dopson as his truck passed and signaled him to come over.
