TIJS MICHIEL VERWEST (53) – 130 MILJOEN EURO
In de jaren tachtig en negentig was Tijs Michiel Verwest meestal te vinden achter de draaitafels op studentenfeesten en in discotheken. Hij ging ook in een platenwinkel werken en probeerde voet aan grond te krijgen in de muziekbranche. Beetje bij beetje begon hij onder zijn artiestennaam Dj Tiësto aan bekendheid te winnen. Net voor de eeuwwisseling kende hij zijn echte doorbraak en werd hij met open armen bij de wereldtop verwelkomd. Sindsdien is hij meervoudig nummer één van de wereld in zijn vak geworden en draait hij nog steeds op heel wat festivals en optredens. De man kan zich met 130 miljoen op de rekening best een steenrijke muzikant noemen en werkt nu steeds meer naar een huiselijker leven toe.
