Ruud van Nistelrooy was een fenomeen, toen hij nog als profvoetballer op het veld stond. De man mocht met de grootste clubs aan de slag en verzamelden horden fans bij onder andere Real Madric, PSV en Manchester United. Als tiener leerde hij zijn grote liefde Leontien kennen en toen hij in Engeland aan het werk was, besloot hij om haar ten huwelijk te vragen. Ondertussen is het koppel al meer dan 18 jaar gelukkig samen en stapten ze in het Brabantse Geffen samen naar het altaar nadat hij er de plaatselijke voetbalwedstrijd had afgetrapt. De twee gaan samen met hun dochter Moa Annette vaak kijken naar de wedstrijden van hun zoon Liam Van Nistelrooy.
