Born Anna Maria Mazzini, she is known throughout the world by her stage name Mina, one of the most famous and inimitable singers in the history of music. Her very long career began thanks to the fortunate meeting with Gino Paoli who in 1960 asked her to sing one of his songs Il Cielo in una Stanza. This song marked Mina’s destiny forever, ranking her as an authentic universal artistic talent. From that moment on, Mina became the protagonist of historic Rai programs such as Canzonissima, Studio Uno: her great stage presence had a great impact on the public who adore her and gave her immense satisfaction. However, 1978 was the year of the turning point: Mina decided to stop singing and retired to private life in Switzerland where she still lives today next to her husband Eugenio Quaini, a retired heart surgeon. Here the legendary singer leads a quieter life, away from the spotlight, dedicating herself only to her husband and grandchildren.
