Stefano Pessina is a name that is almost unknown to the masses, yet according to Forbes magazine he is the third richest man in Italy. From the small family business, the engineer and entrepreneur took his first steps in the late 70s to now lead a global pharmaceutical distribution giant. The entrepreneur, together with his wife Ornella Barra, was the protagonist of a revolution in the business world, leading him to become CEO of Walgreen Boots Alliance, the world’s largest health and wellness products company with almost 19 thousand points of sale, over 400 thousand employees and 400 distribution centers to pharmacies, hospitals and polyclinics in more than 20 countries around the world.
