当時はまだ今ほど知られていなかったバイオリニストの葉加瀬太郎の演奏に強い印象を受けた高田万由子が、知人を通じて紹介してもらったことが、二人の出会いの始まりだった。8年にわたる交際を経て、1999年に結婚。プロポーズは、葉加瀬がセリーヌ・ディオンのニューヨークツアーに参加していた時期に、本人の目の前で行われたという。夫婦で釣りに出かけたり、家族でツアーに同行したりするなど、家庭の関係は良好に保たれているようだ。
