This Well-Meaning Waitress Was Shocked at How a Homeless Man Turned the Tables for Her
The Joy of Helping Others
She packed her homemade meal in a container and rushed to the man. A joyful sense of pride filled her that she could be the reason for someone’s smile. The homeless guy had experienced too much poor behavior, and no one ever helped him with more than some bucks or candy. An entire home-cooked meal was probably impossible for him to imagine.
The grateful man thanked her repeatedly, but seeing him eating and happy was the ultimate achievement for Cindy, who instantly knew that all her trouble had been worth it. Altruism, a selfless concern for humanity, is a rare trait, and Cindy had it in spades.
