Iggy Pop | Musiker | geb. 1947 in Muskegon, USA
Iggy Pop ist als “Godfather of Punk” eine lebende Legende. Die Musik seiner Band “The Stooges” gilt als Wegbereiter für Punk, denn die Radikalität des Bandsounds war zur damaligen Zeit etwas ganz Neues. Hinzu kamen Iggys exzessive Bühnenshows, die seinen Starruf zementierten. Kein Wunder, dass niemand anderes als David Bowie zum Mentor des Sängers wurde. Nachdem Bowie das letzte Album der “Stooges” abgemischt hatte, produzierte der Brite 1977 “Lust for Live”, auf dem sich Iggys größte Hit “The Passenger” befindet. Als Vollblut-Rock’n’Roller ist Iggy natürlich auch heute noch aktiv. Seine letzte Platte erschien 2019 unter dem Titel “Free”. Zeit für Iggy also, uns mit neuen Songs zu beglücken.
