Curieux et affable, Michel Drucker imprègne la télévision française de son énergie unique depuis les années 50. Alors qu’il avait débuté comme commentateur sportif à l’ORTF, la télévision a fini par lui apporter l’attention qu’il méritait en présentant Champs-Elysées. Au passage, il a lancé Vivement dimanche en 1998, une émission dont la longévité est telle que France 3 la diffuse encore aujourd’hui, en plus d’un prime intitulé Famille, je vous aime.
Son salaire pour Vivement dimanche atteint environ 40 000 euros par mois, soit près de 480 000 euros annuels. Dans l’ombre, la société que Michel Drucker a créée, appelée DMD, génère près de 10 millions d’euros à travers la production et les locations du Studio Gabriel.
