Longtemps emblème du 20 heures, Claire Chazal signe ses adieux à TF1 en septembre 2015 après 24 ans. À l’époque, son cachet était estimé à 120 000 euros par mois, soit près de 1,5 M euros par an, lui garantissant une forte capacité de négociation pour ses indemnités de départ, évaluées entre 2,2 et 3,5 millions d’euros.
Elle rebondit sur France 5 en présentant Entrée Libre dès début 2016 : selon Télé Star, elle aurait touché 2500 euros par numéro, soit jusqu’à 45 000 euros par mois, une information contestée par France Télévisions. Depuis, Claire Chazal poursuit sa présence sur France Télévisions par des formats culturels tels que Passage des arts et Le Grand Échiquier.
