So, many would probably be surprised to know that Pauline Collins and John Alderton hold the record for having one of the lengthiest marriages in entertainment history—over 50 years!
The couple has been together after tying the knot in 1969. Although they had met a few years before, it was while filming the ‘ITV’ series ‘Upstairs, Downstairs’ that they became close. As for the secret to a happy marriage, according to the ‘Shirley Valentine’ actress, it is to give one’s partner the space to breathe.
