Guardians of History: The Cleanup Crew
The cleanup at Canal Saint-Martin turned the workers into keepers of history. Every day, they found new things in the water, each one telling a bit of the canal’s long story. Wearing bright safety gear and using nets and big machines, they were like treasure hunters in the middle of the city.
Their job was about more than just getting rid of trash. It was about finding and keeping safe the memories of the city. Working there, they started to feel a deep sense of duty to the canal and its history, knowing they were protecting a piece of Paris for people in the future.
