Leïla Bekhti a joué en 2009 dans un film de Jacques Audiard intitulé « Un prophète ». Ce film a été récompensé la même année par un prix Louis-Delluc. Il a également été primé neuf fois aux César du cinéma en 2010, et notamment dans la catégorie du meilleur film et celui du meilleur réalisateur.
« Un prophète » a aussi joué un rôle particulier dans la vie sentimentale de Leïla Bekhti, puisque c’est durant le tournage de ce film qu’elle a fait la connaissance de Tahar Rahim. Leïla Bekhti et Tahar Rahim se sont dit oui devant l’autel en 2010 et sont ensuite devenus parents de trois enfants.
