Smith fühlte sich beschämt, weil sie ihr Neugeborenes stillte. Zunächst entschied sie sich, ihren kleinen Jungen trotz der Blicke der Kellnerin weiter zu füttern. Doch als Smiths Sohn wieder anfing zu quengeln, beschloss sie, ihren Abend abzubrechen, zum Auto zurückzukehren und dort auf ihren Mann und ihre zwei Söhne zu warten.
Obwohl Smith traurig war, dass ihr einziger Abend auswärts so abrupt endete, wollte sie nicht in eine unangenehme Situation mit der Kellnerin geraten. Allein im Auto fütterte die junge Mutter ihren Sohn und hörte Radio. Sie ahnte nicht, dass ihr Mann bald mit etwas Unglaublichem zurückkehren würde.
