At that moment Jonathan thumbed the hitchhiker’s gesture. He hoped that someone, pitied by the bad weather that was raging and by the fact that the area was difficult, could take pity on his situation and stop. For Jonathan it was enough to reach an inhabited center where he would have had more opportunities to find a concrete move both to the vet and home. Driving the vehicle was a middle-aged woman who rolled down the window and listened to Jonathan as he explained what had happened and why she was on foot. Who knows if the woman would have believed him?
