John Wayne – $60.5K, 1975 Pontiac Grand Safari
John Wayne was a leading actor in Hollywood from the ’40s until the ’60s. He appeared as the one-eyed marshall in True Grit, a role that earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. His previous 1975 Pontiac Grand Safari station wagon shown above, which he enjoyed driving, has undergone many changes throughout the years and has already been auctioned off.
According to sources, it was purchased at an auction for about $60.5K, and its new buyer must have felt like a celebrity while driving it. Wayne died at the age of 72 in 1979 as a result of stomach cancer.
