Jeff Bezos and Mackenzie Bezos – $38 Billion
Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos met in 1992 at a New York City hedge fund, D.E. Shaw, where both were employed. They wedded just a year later, had four children, and moved to Seattle, where Jeff founded Amazon, a small online bookstore that would grow into a global behemoth.
However, after 25 years of marriage, they announced their divorce in 2019, which was finalized with substantial financial implications. MacKenzie received 25% of their Amazon stock, valued at over $38 billion, marking one of the largest divorce settlements in history. Jeff retained 75% of the Amazon stock along with full interests in The Washington Post and Blue Origin.
