Toen zijn moeder zwanger was, ging ze op zoek naar een naam voor haar toekomstige zoon en haar passie voor muziek bracht haar ertoe om de baby te vernoemen naar Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Uiteindelijk zou de jonge man zijn carrière niet in de muziek uitbouwen, maar hij koos voor het profvoetbal. Hij verkreeg zijn eerste fans toen hij bij Willem II en Ajax aan de slag ging, maar mocht daarna naar Barcelona trekken voor een leuk bedrag van 75 miljoen euro. Als we zijn aandeel daarin samentellen met een wel erg aantrekkelijk jaarsalaris, dan is de jonge voetballer nu al zo’n twintig miljoen euro waard en daar zullen veel concurrent jaloers op zijn.
