Ondertussen is Mark Rutte al aan zijn twaalfde jaar als minister-president toe en zag hij al heel wat collega-ministers komen en gaan. De man kon tevoren al even ervaring opdoen als staatssecretaris en als fractievoorzitter in de Tweede Kamer. Als leider van de natie is hij een erg druk bezet man en zal hij salaris van net geen twee ton per jaar best wel verdienen. Aangevuld met diverse onkostenvergoedingen en mandaten bouwt hij beetje bij beetje zijn spaarpotje op. Ondertussen zou hij al goed zijn voor iets meer dan drie miljoen euro, maar officiële cijfers zijn daarvoor niet beschikbaar. Alleen een pand van 7 ton in Benoordenhout getuigt van zijn vermogen.
