Wayne Gretzky, 1984

Canadian Wayne Gretzky, nicknamed ‘The Great One,’ is a former professional hockey player who participated in 20 seasons before becoming a head coach for the Phoenix Coyotes. He was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in 1979, where he broke many scoring records and led them to four Stanley Cup championships. 

Gretsky retired from his position as head coach in 2009 following their bankruptcy. In October 2016, he became vice-chairman of Oilers Entertainment Group. He resigned from his post in May 2021 and signed with TNT to become a studio analyst entering the broadcasting world.
