Ricky Williams, 2002

American running back Ricky Williams started playing college football for the University of Texas, breaking Tony Dorsett’s record for rushing yards, where he won the 1998 Heisman Trophy. He was drafted in 1999 for the New Orleans Saints and was traded after three years to the Miami Dolphins.

Williams left the NFL in 2004 on his terms. He came back to the Dolphins in 2007 and played the 2011 season with Baltimore Ravens before announcing his retirement the year after to become a football analyst for the Longhorn Network. In 2021 it was revealed the former pro athlete is partnering up with director Rodney Rothman to film his own biopic.
