Kobe Bryant, 2001

Shooting guard legend Kobe Bryant had a prolific stand in the NBA before his shock death in January 2020, which led many to mourn one of the most talented players in the association. He spent 20 years playing for the L.A. Lakers, winning him five NBA Championships, was an 18-time All-Star, and was named NBA Finals MVP twice.

The all-time leading scorer in Lakers history gave himself the nickname ‘Black Mamba’ and earned his reputation as a high-flyer for winning the slam dunk contest in 1997. Bryant was honored as one of history’s greatest players and was announced on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
