Was Lexi zuvor immer wieder schmerzlich durchmachen musste, war der sogenannte Jo-Jo-Effekt. Diäten sind oft zeitlich begrenzt, und obwohl man mit ihnen großartige Ergebnisse erzielen kann, halten sie normalerweise nicht langean und das verlorene Gewicht kommt schneller wieder zurück, als es einem Lieb ist. Lexi wusste, dass sie ihr Leben von Grund auf ändern musste, damit sie ihr neues Gewicht wirklich halten konnte und nicht Opfer eines Jo-Jo Effekts wurde.
Also schnappte sie sich einen Stift und notierte ihre Lieblingsspeisen auf der Suche nach gesunden Rezepten, die diese enthalten. Mit dieser Strategie kam sie nicht nur leicht an neue Rezepte, sondern konnte ihr Essen auch selbst kochen und sich wie zuvor aufs Essen freuen.
