Beiden ging es gesundheitlich nach kurzer Zeit bereits sehr gut, und so war die Motivation gegeben und ihre Transformation konnte schließlich mit langsamen Schritten beginnen. Große Veränderungen waren für Danny nicht einfach, besonders am Anfang. Schließlich liebte er es, in seiner Freizeit auf dem Sofa zu faulenzen und Snacks in sich reinzuschaufeln. Allerdings erkannte er auch, dass seine Frau es ernster meint als alles andere und dass sie ohne seine Unterstützung wahrscheinlich nie aus ihrem Teufelskreis herauskommen würde.
Seine Liebe zu seiner Frau hob Danny schließlich von der Couch und sie konnten gemeinsam in ein neues Leben ziehen. Der beste Weg, Lexi bei diesem gewaltigen Unterfangen zu unterstützen, war, sich so gesund wie sie zu ernähren und mit ihr zu trainieren. Dazu bedarfte es allerdings zunächst einiger klarer Regeln.
