Katarina Witt ist eine ehemalige deutsche Eiskunstläuferin, die im Einzellauf für die DDR und nach der Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands für Deutschland startete. Sie wurde zweimal Olympiasiegerin und viermal Weltmeisterin. Witt erfreute sich großer Beliebtheit, im In und Ausland. Sie galt als „schönstes Gesicht des Sozialismus“, war zweimal unter den „50 schönsten Menschen der Welt“, die das amerikanische „People Magazine“ jährlich kürt. Nach ihrer Karriere ist sie als Schauspielerin und Moderatorin tätig. Witt lebt aktuell in Berlin, ist nicht verheiratet und hat keine Kinder.
