Nachdem Michael Wendler („Der Wendler“) einen ziemlichen Höhenflug als Schlagerstar hatte, kam finanziell der eiskalte Fall, und er musste schließlich sogar Insolvenz anmelden. Heute lebt er mit seiner viele Jahre jüngeren Frau in den USA und die beiden führen nach wie vor einen äußerst luxuriösen Lebensstil. Es wird viel darüber spekuliert, wie dies überhaupt noch möglich sei. Denn das Vermögen von Michael Wendler soll sich Schätzungen zufolge nicht auf viel mehr als 50.000 Euro belaufen. Für seine Auftritte nimmt er um die 6.500 Euro, weshalb sich im laufenden Jahr eventuell wieder etwas mehr Vermögen bei dem Schlagersänger ansammeln wird.
