Traurige Bekanntheit erlangte Christiane Felscherinow durch ihre Lebensgeschichte die als “Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo” ein viel gelesener Bestseller war und später auch verfilmt wurde. Sie versuchte sich als Sängerin und Schauspielerin und es wurde immer wieder über Rückfälle in ihre Drogensucht berichtet. 2013 veröffentlichte sie ihr zweites Buch, eine weitere Autobiographie. Nach der Veröffentlichung zog sie sich aufgrund von gesundheitlichen Problemen und der Erwartungen vieler Menschen, deren sie nicht gerecht werden könne, komplett aus der Öffentlichkeit zurück. Wo sie aktuell wohnt ist nicht bekannt. Sie soll aber des öfteren in der Berliner Drogenszene rund um das Kottbusser Tor gesichtete worden sein.
