The German pop singer became particularly well-known in the 1980s through the “Neue Deutsche Welle” (New German Wave). Her songs, such as “99 Luftballons” (99 Balloons), went viral. She continues to make music today and has appeared on various television shows, such as “The Voice of Germany” and “Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert.” In October 2020, she released her latest album, “Licht.” In addition to music, she founded the “Neue Schule Hamburg” (New School Hamburg) based on the democratic system known as the “Sudbury Model” in Hamburg-Rahlstedt. The singer also lives in this northeastern Hamburg district in a house with her partner and children. The house is valued at just €800,000, which isn’t exactly ostentatious compared to other celebrities.
