ANDY BORG – THYRNAU NEAR PASSAU

The Austrian pop singer rose to fame in 1982 with his hit “Adios Amor.” Since the 1990s, he has hosted various pop music shows. Initially, he appeared on the “Schlagerparade der Volksmusik” (Pop Parade of Folk Music), later taking over the “Musikantenstadl” (Musician’s Stadl) as Karl Moik’s successor. Since 2018, he has had his own show on SWR television called “Schlager-Spaß mit Andy Borg,” which he hosted from his home in Thyrnau during the coronavirus crisis. In 2006, he bought a plot of land there for €80,000 and had it developed. The mayor of the municipality and fellow pop singer Florian Silbereisen also attended the groundbreaking ceremony. Andy Borg lived in the Rhineland for 25 years before deciding on the property in Thyrnau.
