Edgar Davids heeft heel wat eigenheden die hem overal ter wereld in de kijker plaatsen. Op het voetbalveld was hij de blitse sportman met zijn superman-bril, tijdens de wedstrijd was hij de flitsende middenvelder die kon aanvallen en verdedigen. Maar ook op het vlak van relaties was hij vaak in de schijnwerpers te vinden. Een modeontwerpster, een actrice en een fotomodel passeerden de revue. Zijn vorige relatie bracht ook een zoon met zich mee, maar het was pas toen hij in 2017 de jonge Malou van der Tas leerde kennen, dat hij tot rust leek te komen. Op sociale media werd weinig of niets meer gedeeld en de geboorte van hun zoon en dochter bleef lang een publiek geheim.
