Alhoewel Frank de Boer ook heel wat bewezen heeft op sportief gebied, wordt hij vaak aanzien als het brave broertje van Ronald de Boer. Naast zijn succesvolle loopbaan als voetballer en zijn even succesvolle carrière als trainer, is hij ook gewoon een man die graag met zijn familie op vakantie gaat. In zijn jonge jaren deed hij dat op de camping en leerde handbalspeelster Helen van Haren kennen. Na jaren van elkaar daar te ontmoeten sloeg de vonk over en werd het tweetal een stel. Ondertussen zijn ze 34 jaar ouder en nog steeds dolgelukkig samen met hun dochters Beau, Jackie en Romy. Nu Frank even trainer af is, kunnen ze samen genieten van het gezinsleven.
