Actuó en Dolor y Gloria, Volver y Jamón, Jamón. En Estados Unidos actuó en Piratas del Caribe, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Blow, All the Pretty Horses y Vanilla Sky. Recientemente protagonizó Madres paralelas, una película de Almodóvar nominada al Óscar como Mejor película extranjera.
