Su nivel de conducción la ha llevado a ganar muchos premios, entre ellos, un Antena de Oro y uno de Plata, Premio Iris y Premio a la Imagen de Andalucía, entre otros. Algunos de sus programas periodísticos son Noticias 1, Noticias 2, Noticias fin de semana, Las noticias de la mañana y Espejo Público. Sandra tiene un hijo, David Tejera Golpe, de 17 años.
