Começou a carreira de atriz em 1963, aos dezessete anos. Foi eleita uma das mulheres mais lindas do Brasil no ano de 1978 e uma das mais fotografadas durante a década de 70 e 80. Na TV fez participações importantes em várias novelas como “Selva de Pedra”, “O Bem-Amado”, “O Rebu” e “Plumas e Paetês”. Atuou em diversas peças de teatro. Em 1983 deixou a carreira de atriz devido a sérios problemas nas cordas vocais. Em 2004, retomou a carreira na peça “Jung”, sucesso no Brasil e em Portugal. Entre 1976 e 2017 foi casada com o escritor Luiz Carlos Maciel, de quem ficou viúva.
