A atriz começou sua carreira no fim dos anos 70. Com folhetins de sucesso como “Guerra dos Sexos”, “Um Sonho a Mais”, “Dona Beija” e “Passione”, Maitê deu um show de atuação nos mais diversos personagens. Trabalhou no cinema, escreveu crônicas e lançou livros, entrevistava em “Saia Justa”, e posava para revistas.
