Alice ed Ellen sono note come le gemelle Kessler, un duo artistico tedesco che ha fatto fortuna in Italia dagli anni ’60. Le gemelle Kessler sono un autentico pezzo di cultura pop e simbolo della televisione anche per quelle generazioni che non le hanno viste ballare direttamente il loro storico da-da-un-pa con le loro gambe chilometriche. Le due ballerine ormai non lavorano più da diverso tempo ma sono sempre state legatissime nella vita come nella professione. Attualmente vivono a Monaco di Baviera in una grande casa: entrambe non si sono mai sposate né hanno avuto figli. Talvolta tornano in Italia per partecipare come ospiti in qualche trasmissione.
